AIFTP Western Zone & Gir Somnath Tax Bar Association Successfully Organize Residential Refresher Course at Flamingo Club & Resort near Diu

Diu, June 14, 2026: The All India Federation of Tax Practitioners (AIFTP), Western Zone, jointly with the Gir Somnath Tax Bar Association, successfully organized a three-day Residential Refresher Course (RRC) from June 12 to June 14, 2026, at the picturesque Flamingo Club & Resort near Diu. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from tax professionals across the country namely from Mumbai, Delhi, Nagpur, Nashik, Surat, Vapi, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Jetpur, Veraval, Una, Diu, with nearly 70 delegates registering for the program.

The Residential Refresher Course was conceived with the vision of CA Akshay Modi, Chairman of AIFTP Western Zone, and was meticulously planned and executed under the guidance and leadership of Immediate Past President of AIFTP, Adv. Samir Jani, whose tireless efforts played a pivotal role in making the event a grand success.

The program was graced by Past President of AIFTP, Adv. Nikita Badheka, as the Guest of Honour. In her address, she highlighted the importance of continuous professional education and encouraged members to stay updated with the rapidly evolving tax laws and compliance framework.

The technical sessions received an overwhelming response from the participants. Renowned GST expert CA Swapnil Munot from Pune delivered an insightful and comprehensive session on Section 74A of the GST Act, explaining the practical implications, procedural aspects, and recent developments concerning determination of tax involving fraud, suppression, and wilful misstatement.

Another highly appreciated session was delivered by Adv. Vivek Chavda from Ahmedabad, who shared his expertise on the provisions relating to Presumptive Taxation under the Income-tax Act. His practical approach and detailed analysis of the scheme proved valuable for practitioners dealing with small businesses and professionals.

The event also witnessed the presence of several distinguished members of the tax fraternity, including senior tax practitioners Adv. Upendrabhai Bhatt, Adv. Bakulbhai Parikh, and Adv. Shaileshbhai Desai. The gathering was further enriched by the presence of Past National Secretary General of AIFTP, Adv. Santosh Gupta, NEC Member and Past National Treasurer Adv. Bhaskar Patel, NEC Member Adv. Jayendra Tanna.

Apart from the technical deliberations, the delegates enjoyed networking opportunities, fellowship, and the scenic beauty of Diu. The program successfully blended professional learning with recreation, providing participants with a refreshing and enriching experience.
